A wise friend commented on a recent post. Basically he was saying, don’t look for the accolades of man to confirm whether your song has been sung. Yup. He’s right! The important thing, I think, is in sharing your gift(s), not for accolades, but for improving our lives. After all, God gave us gifts for a reason. Whether it’s a “creative” gift like music or writing, or a “nurturing” gift like teaching or, well, nurturing, it is, I believe, best if we share it. And gifts don’t always come easy. That’s where that old saying, “Practice makes Perfect” comes in. But, I’ve added another P word: Perseverance. It’s my own little formula: Practice + Perseverance = Perfect.
Then again, perfection is for God alone. He just wants us to strive to be like Him. That’s where perseverance comes in. So, here’s a few more words of wisdom:
“He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that folleth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.” (Proverbs 28:19)
“The difference between perseverance and obstinancy is that one often comes from a strong will and the other from a strong won’t.” (Henry Ward Beecher)
“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.” (Marie Curie, Polish-French Chemist)
“Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” “Galatians 6:9).
So okay! I’ll persevere once again and ask you to read my books!!! “The SEED” is a novel of suspense about GMO’s, and the Johnny Vic series includes three YA historical adventures. Find them at: www.annrichduncan.com!
