The float itself has two mock ups of the front page of the Northern Spectator, the weekly newspaper that Horace worked for as a boy. The building that held the business is now the home of a local resident and the site of Picket Fence Antiques. Right in East Poultney, on the beautiful village green. To learn more about our local Greeley connection go to my website, www.annrichduncan.com and click the links button. That’ll bring you to the Horace Greeley Foundation’s website. And now, here’s a closeup of our “float”. By the way, many thanks to Williams Hardware and Discount Food of Poultney, and to the Ernie DeMattis, and to the House of Angels, for donating supplies and equipment
for our float project.
And, don’t forget: The annual Horace Greeley Writers’ Conference is set for October 15, 2011. Check out the Foundation’s website for details. Or send me your query and I’ll get it to them!
